NOTE: If you saw a 'Race 8' video posted earlier today, that was actually a re-upload of Race 5. This video is the official, actual Race 8 footage. Thanks for your patience while I got the drone back on course! 🛰️ Race 8 at the 2026 Worlds was a true test of nerves. After a slight delay to let the breeze stabilize, the fleet faced a patchy easterly that kept everyone guessing. While some found themselves searching for pressure in the holes, the top teams proved why they are world-class by finding the lanes that mattered. Highlights of Race 8: Tactical Masterclass: Brett Burvill & Max Puttman (Windrush NextGen) read the conditions perfectly, stamping their authority on the fleet with a massive win to secure the lead. The Chase: A standout performance from Beau White & Archie Gargett, clinching a well-earned 2nd place. Consistency is King: Matt Homan & Kris Bilston (Scorpion) rounded out the podium, keeping themselves locked in a dead heat for the overall title. The "Fremantle Doctor" may have played hard to get today, but the flat water of Owen Anchorage still delivered high-speed action and incredibly tight mark roundings. 📍 Venue: Jervoise Bay Sailing Club (JBSC), Western Australia 🎥 Footage: Shot in 4K by Stilldroneinon (James Henry) 🌬 Conditions: 12–18 knots, shifty Easterly / Sea Breeze transition.
