Creating value and training people in Algeria | نعزّز القيمة في الجزائر – نستثمر في التدريب والتطوير

From the early days of our first project in Algeria we’ve nurtured strong relationships with the local communities. Petrofac are committed to creating shared value and stimulating the local economy. Investment in training, the development of nationals and enhancing capabilities are key components of this. We celebrated the re-opening of our Hassi Messaoud construction skills training centre following a two-year closure due to COVID-19 restrictions. Partnership agreements were also signed with two Southern Algeria regions (Wilayas) to recruit and upskill trainees from the local population. Our training centre has a capacity to train up to 400 delegates annually. Facilities include well equipped classrooms and large open workshops with state-of-the art equipment. The curriculum covers five specialist trade areas - Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, Pipework and Welding - with a strong emphasis on health and safety.
