60532 Blue Peter Returns With First Passenger Tour In Over 20 Years! Christmas White Rose. 20/11/24.

On the 20th of November 2024, Ex LNER A2 60532 Blue Peter made a surprising return to the mainline. It was supposed to be EX LNER 61306 Mayflower hauling the Christmas White Rose from Crewe to York but at the last minute, LSL announced that Blue Peter would be at the helm instead. Our first shot is around Miles Plating as the train climbs away from Manchester Victoria and I now see why others bring step ladders as the walls are quite high and after a few failed attempts to get to a higher ground which included a tire and losing my shoe in the process when two train spotters tried to help me out, I found a spot and had to stand on my tip toes and hold the camera, hence the shakiness of the shot. The next shot is taken at Church Fenton where originally, Blue Peter was meant to travel through platform 3 which had a red signal but then everyone shouted that it was now Platform 2 so after a quick move, we film 60532 making her way through but unfortunately as you see, a couple awkwardly move in front of the shot moments before the train pass through. They don't entirely ruin the shot but you'll probably hear me saying, ''What are you doing?''. The final shot of the day is filmed at Hebden Bridge where Blue Peter makes up for lost time after being held at Horbury Up Goods Loop where I meet up with ‪@SteamingThroughYorkshire‬ . It was freezing cold but waiting for the A2 was worth it in the end. I hope you enjoy this video.
