CataractCoach 1038: recurrent pterygium surgery

Removing a pterygium from a virgin eye that has not had prior surgery is relatively straightforward. The pterygium can be peeled or dissected from the ocular surface with relative ease. But in a case where there was a prior pterygium surgery, this is far more challenging. There is scarring of the conjunctiva and tenon's layer which requires careful sharp dissection to remove the pterygium. This case features master surgeon Dr. Pradip Mohanta from West Bengal, India and he showcases his technique. To secure the graft, he uses just the patient's natural fibrin present in blood, without the need for sutures. The outcome is excellent and I look forward to trying this technique.
