My dog Sierra and I set up camp next to a vintage 1968 Cherokee prop plane using a mix of budget Walmart camping gear—including an Ozark Trail A-frame tent and a tarp shelter connected to the plane itself. As night fell, so did the rain… and it did not hold back. Thunder, lightning, and hours of HEAVY RAIN downpours rolled through. We stayed warm—but with wind-blown rain sneaking under the tarp, we definitely got a little wet! How did the cheap Walmart tent hold up in all that weather? We still managed to cook a solid dinner with our new propane firepit and made the best of an intense (and very soggy) night.
