EP0235 Join us as we explore Great Basin National Park in eastern Nevada, using the KOA in Ely as our base camp. On our first day, we stopped at both visitor centers, drove the scenic road through the park, and enjoyed a couple of short nature trails. On day two, we hiked a trail leading to two stunning alpine lakes, surrounded by incredible mountain views. We also brought our telescope to take advantage of Great Basin’s reputation as a dark sky park, but the clouds had other plans. Even without the stargazing, this national park is full of breathtaking landscapes, peaceful hikes, and hidden beauty.
