June 16, 2015 Starting in 2015, the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) incentive metrics on depression screening & follow-up, and Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) include adolescents aged 12 and older. As health systems and practices strive to implement processes to screen this new population and submit the related documentation and billing claims, it is imperative that specific nuances of this population are taken into account. This includes having explicit processes by which the adolescent’s privacy is ensured, and the use of billing codes and documentation that adhere to policies that protect adolescent confidentiality. For providers that see both adults and adolescents, there are important differences in the tools that should be used and specific considerations that should be made in the codes used for these distinct populations. The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the CCO incentive metrics that now include adolescents, strategies for how practices and health systems can address privacy and confidentiality before screening, and specific suggestions and considerations to use when submitting billing claims and documenting care in the EMR. Webinar participants will learn: The rationale for including adolescents in the CCO incentive metrics related to depression screening & follow-up and SBIRT Specific CCO guidance for these metrics Real-world strategies and issues for practices considering medical chart documentation and submission of billing claims codes that are both aligned with the CCO incentive metric and protect privacy and confidentiality for adolescents Presented By: Colleen Reuland, MS RJ Gillespie, MD, MHPE Elizabeth Thorne, MPH
