Hugo was diagnosed with testicular cancer in February 2020, just a few weeks before the COVID-19 national lockdown. “Having cancer in this new world we’re living in is a lot tougher than it was before for a lot of people. I’m very fortunate that I caught my cancer early.” After finding a lump in his testicles, Hugo went through chemotherapy for his cancer treatment, experiencing side effects heightened by the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Due to not being able to visit or see anyone, Hugo had to drive himself to the hospital or take taxies to treatment. Since his recovery, Hugo has had a new appreciation for his life. He is now back into his fitness and is positive for the future. 1 in 2 people in the UK will get cancer during their lifetime.
