Corn vs Clay cat litters showdown. Also a quick mention of advantages of MIXING LITTERS & My DIY sifting litter box invention. Finally a real-life cat use litter review of the final 2 litters of my 9 litters tests. LitterMaid Corn Cob and World's Best compared to a re-visit of the tried and true, Dr. Elsey's Ultra clumping litter. *Spoiler Alert: Dr. ELSEY'S is far superior in every way except it being the 1. Heaviest 2. Lowest Absorbency/ Volume (but not terrible) 3. Not Environmentally friendly So if any of these three concerns are a deal breaker to you than you can give World's Best a try. I'm not a fan of Litter Maid Corn Cob litter as I thought I'd be. I had high hopes for it. If you try it and hate it, it can be MIXED with World's Best and even TofuKitty Club Litter for an even better litter... IMO a better litter than any of the 3 afore mentioned Bio clumping litters individually! The pros of the litters help cancel out the cons of the others. I'll lay out the pros and cons of each main litter of this video. Dr Elsey's Ultra clumping clay litter Pros 1. Strong Clump 2. Absorbs quickly 3. Low dust,... None noticed if NOT agitated 4. Sifts great! 5. Good on odor control as long as poop is burried Cons 1. Heavy 2. Clumps Sometimes can stick 3. Absorption / volume is ok 4. Not very environmentally friendly Note* I mixed some Clump and Seal by Arm and Hammer which improved the clumps of Dr Elsey's (better clump than either litter alone) and ended all the few sticking problems I had. I don't like clump and seal fragrance, but only a little of this Arm and Hammer is needed to make Dr Elsey's even better Arm and Hammer tracks terribly, but not when added to Dr Elsey's. Absorbancy per volume improves with this mix as well. LitterMaid Premium Corn Cob Litter Pros 1. Very LIGHT weight! 2. Virtually Dust Free 3. Excellent Absorbency/ volume. Will last a long time Cons 1. Fragrance is pleasant at first but grew annoying (opinion), but wore off and revealed that it was merely masking odors and not controlling them Poor odor control long term 2. Absorbs fluids slowly, puddles first 3. Clumps are weak and moist in center... , not best for odor 4. Litter color makes it difficult to find clumps and waste 5. Tracks a great distance and blends into wood floors 6. Doesn't Sift well using gravity sifting boxes. Despite fine texture it has an abnormally shaped interlocking texture that resists sifting when stacked in quantity World's Best Corn (multi cat clumping in red bag) Pros 1. Lighter weight 2. Absorbs fairly quick and good amount / volume 3. Clumps are decent strength and dry 4. Low dust as long as you don't agitate the litter (true of many litters) *** Really this litter is a good all around litter but is not much better than average. It's a great choice if trying to escape from clay, because it functions similar to a clumping clay litter like Dr Elsey's, but doesn't Excell in any field really. Cons 1. Smells like old corn meal or something. no one in my family likes the natural smell of this litter 2. Clumps stick to sides and bottom of litter box bad and fall apart when un-sticking them
