“Would You Rather” is about the questions that don’t come with easy answers. Some choices are deeply personal. Some are global. Some ask us what we’re willing to lose, what we’re willing to protect, and what kind of pain we’re willing to carry just to stay true to ourselves. Sometimes the choice that matters most is also the one that hurts. Sometimes growing up means choosing the thing you know you may have to grieve. In this episode, Chaisen is performing at ROCK FOR HUMANITY — a global music event that feels like the Olympics of music, but without the competition. One performer is selected from each country to appear, and at the end, the artists themselves vote on one artist to close the festival. Chaisen is the youngest performer in the history of the event, and this is his first time stepping onto a stage this massive in front of such a worldwide audience. But while the whole world is gathered for the music, he makes a different kind of choice too. Instead of spending every moment inside the festival, he slips away to explore the desert around him — seeing it for the first time, taking in something real, something quiet, something bigger than the stage. Because success means something. But so does being present for your own life. And out there, something begins to shift. As he moves through the desert, Chaisen starts sensing that there may be something more going on than he can explain. The landscape feels different. Like it has awakened something in him — or maybe awakened something around him. He doesn’t understand it yet. He only knows he feels it. That’s what “Would You Rather” lives inside: the pressure to become something, the fear of what it costs, and the reminder not to forget the ride while you’re trying to survive it. For me, this marks the middle of the series. And in a lot of ways, it feels like the point where Chaisen fully becomes the one I’ve carried in my head for decades. This video begins the rest of his story. ABOUT THE CHAISEN HALE PROJECT Chaisen Hale is an original longform story told through music videos, songs, and cinematic worldbuilding. At the center of it is Chaisen — a boy shaped by loss, healing, imagination, and the fight to stay open-hearted in a world that keeps asking hard things of him. His story unfolds across multiple seasons, and it is intentionally told in unconventional ways, with pieces of the timeline revealed out of order. This project is also an exploration of coexistence: human storytelling and emerging technology working together, not in competition. Every release is part of a larger emotional arc. Every song moves the story forward. And every video is another piece of who Chaisen is becoming. BEHIND THE VIDEO / PROCESS NOTES This was the biggest-budget Chaisen Hale video to date. It took 5 different AI models, 4 traditional software tools, and more than 41 hours to complete — including the extra mixing and engineering on the song. Shockingly… the most complicated shot was the dung beetle. Exotic locations may be digital, but the production headaches are apparently very real. Also, for anyone following the bigger arc closely: this is the mid-series point for me. Chaisen has now fully become the one I’ve thought about for decades — and from here forward, the story starts opening up in some very unconventional ways.
