🌿 Last episode of the Cow & Kitchen Series 🐄 This series was all about connecting our everyday kitchen habits with true compassion, honouring cows not just in words, but in action. If we really believe they are Gau Mata, let’s start by leaving their milk and babies to themselves. 💛 Here are a few simple ways to live that truth every day: 1️⃣ Replace or skip ghee: Ghee is just a taste habit. Try virgin coconut oil (its aroma beautifully resembles ghee), or choose plant-based ghee/butter. For health, wholesome nut butters work wonderfully too. 2️⃣ Save your peels: Store fruit and vegetable peels in the fridge so they don’t decay. Once you have enough, feed them to a stray cow. If there aren’t any around, simply compost them. 🌱 3️⃣ Compost onion & garlic peels: Layer them in an old bucket with soil and crushed dry leaves. In three months, you’ll have rich compost. Use it for your plants or sprinkle it near trees. Be a little compost fairy! 🧚♀️ 4️⃣ Make your own plant-based milk: Check out my videos for easy ways to make soy or nut milks at home so no calf is deprived of their mother’s milk. 🥛🌾 Note: Refrigerating peels until you collect enough is the best way to prevent them from decaying. Feeding fungus-infested food to cows can cause diseases. Avoid storing peels in the fridge for more than 2 days to maintain proper hygiene. What habits have you changed to help cows in a real sense?
