The F18 Hornet SLAM-ER Datalink function enables you to manually designate a target during the missile's terminal phase. This lets you engage targets at range where the precise location is not known, as well as enabling last minute target re-selection or wave-off capability where the primary target is already destroyed. With this missile you get an unmatched combination of range, accuracy, and flexibility. Note that you need to have both the SLAM-ER and the Datalink Pod on your loadout to use the remote targeting functionality! The AGM-84H SLAM-ER, or Standoff Land Attack Missile - Extended Response is a derivative of the Harpoon.
