What is the REFRAMING Cinema Film Festival, and why was it created? The REFRAMING Cinema Film Festival is a new, nonprofit film festival created by Vues de Culture, focused on amplifying the voices of Black and minority filmmakers. It's about celebrating storytelling that reflects our communities and reframes how our stories are told and seen. What can attendees expect this year? We'll be screening over 25 films from across the country. The festival opens Friday, May 23 at 5:30 PM with a free screening of Grounded: Creating Space for Black Peace, followed by an art walk and mixer. Saturday includes a full day of screenings, panels, and visual art. Where is the festival happening, and how can people attend? The festival takes place May 23–24 at the LITE Center in Lafayette. Friday's events are free to the public. Saturday passes and the full lineup are available at www.reframingcinema.org.
