Day 3 | Kansas to Illinois – Hay Run Crosses the Heartland 🚛🌾

Day 3 of our Delta, UT to Williston, SC hay haul starts in Oakley, Kansas at the TA Travel Center. Our goal today is to cover major ground on I-70 eastbound, finishing the day in Illinois as we continue this cross-country run. 🛣 Route Highlights • Kansas (Oakley → Topeka → Kansas City): Long stretches of farmland dominate this part of the trip. Passing through Salina (home of aviation history and the Smoky Hill River), then on to Topeka, the Kansas state capital. Rolling into Kansas City, a freight hub straddling both Kansas and Missouri, famous for its BBQ and jazz roots. • Missouri (Kansas City → St. Louis): Crossing the Missouri River and continuing through farmland and rolling hills. Approaching St. Louis, the skyline is marked by the famous Gateway Arch, symbolizing the “Gateway to the West.” • Illinois: After crossing the Mississippi River, we’ll enter Illinois. Our plan is to stop somewhere east of St. Louis, setting us up for tomorrow’s push further into the South.
