Dan McNeil Tweets Sexist Remark About Maria Taylor

In what was surely a momentous occasion for Maria Taylor, working her first Monday Night Football game for ESPN, she shouldn’t have to answer to sexist analysis from a radio host, but unfortunately, 670 The Score’s Danny McNeil fired off a misogynistic tweet. Commenting on Taylor’s outfit, McNeil wrote “NFL sideline reporter or a host for the AVN annual awards presentation?” For those unfamiliar, the AVN Awards are an event held annually in Vegas that is akin to the Oscars for adult films. The longtime Chicago sports radio host deleted the tweet soon after, but not before it was already seen and shared. After Awful Announcing reported on McNeil’s tweet, Taylor responded to the radio host as did many others who recognized its offensive nature. McNeil, a Chicago sports radio veteran of more than three decades, returned to The Score’s lineup in 2018 to co-host their afternoon drive show weekdays from 2 – 6pm CT.
