Welcome to Pelvicore Plus, where we bring you the real lowdown on all public health matters. The truth is, desire and arousal are different. Desire is your wanting to be intimate. It's your being in the mood to be intimate. Arousal is your body's response to that, That hot flush, lubrication, the engorgement. Now, a lot of people may think that you need to have desire before you have arousal, but that's not necessarily true. We all know that you can start the process of being intimate, your body responds and then all of the sudden you're in the mood, which is when arousal comes in. One doesn't necessarily have to come before the other, but it can be very helpful to distinguish your desire from your arousal. Your desire is "Am I in the mood? Do I want to do this?
