Dandeli, located in Karnataka, India, is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. The Kali River, flowing through Dandeli, offers exciting opportunities for adventure seekers. The main water sports activities include: 1. River Rafting: The Kali River is ideal for white water rafting, particularly during the monsoon season (June to September). The rapids range from Class II to Class IV, providing thrilling experiences for both beginners and experienced rafters. 2. Kayaking: Another popular activity on the Kali River is kayaking. This allows visitors to navigate the river’s gentle stretches and enjoy the serene surroundings. 3. Coracle Rides: Traditional circular boats called coracles are used for leisurely rides on the river. This provides a unique perspective of the lush greenery and wildlife along the riverbanks. 4. Swimming and Natural Jacuzzi: There are natural pools and spots along the river where visitors can swim and relax. Some areas even have natural jacuzzis created by the river’s flow over rocks. Additionally you can also enjoy Zipline and Water Zorbing, but the activities are different based on the resort you choose to stay with. I stayed at Dew Drops Jungle Resort and their package includes Boating, Kayaking and Water Zorbing water activities and the popular sport River Rafting comes with extra charges. Also, River Rafting is purely on luck as this activity can be done only if the dam releases the water. Unfortunately the luck didn’t work for me.
