Peachicks hatched without a mothering hen will require a Brooder set up for the first four months of life, until their immune systems, digestive systems, & the ability to regulate their own body heat develops. This will take 16 weeks.. Those hatched by a motherimg hen should remain in the care of the hen off the ground as long as she activly cares for them. She will provide the care. Peachicks hatched in a brooder or aquired without a mothering hen benefit from specific needs being met in the brooder that otherwise a mother hen would provide. During this time the space they grow in is very important to remain clean and not too large of an environment with a basic set up for safety. We will go over what is needed to help your peachicks have a healthy strong start, before they are ready to make the transition to a larger enclosure to mature. We will help you understand the critical importance of heat for Peachicks that are not under a hens care but in yours. ‼️Note: heat lamps while critical for Peachicks without a mothering hen, are Firehazzard, they must be secured safely, away from all flammable items, and should NEVER be be placed Inside the enclosure, only overhead 1/2 the space, cord secured to the side away from the lamphead. *Premier One are the lamps we recommend as they are ceramic & low fire risk. Cover the space with a screen top under the heat lamp always keep dust cleaned off the lamp. Never allow water to splash the lamp. Keep water on the opposite side. Use responsibility & carefully.
