Spring brings running on the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway. #9 is fully restored and running well. Most of this video was filmed during the photo charter on April 28th 2016. This mixed train would have been a fairly typical short train as run on the WW&F back in the day. #9 saw service on the Sandy River Railroad as their #5 before being renumbered after the SR&RL merger as #6. In the 20's she was sold to the Kennbec Central and ran as #4. when that line closed the WW&F acquired her and ran her for a couple of months as #9. she was then purchased by a train fan and stored in a shed in Connecticut until returned to the WW&F around 1995. The museum volunteers and staff restored #9 between 2006 and 2016 Coach 3, box car 309 and flat car 118 are original to the railway. coach 3 was transferred to the Bridgeton and Saco RR then on to Edaville. the two freight cars followed #9 to connecticut. The Railway is rebuilt on original road bed though the woods of Alna Maine USA. learn more about the Railway Museum at wwwfry.org
