The automatic transmission has been having intermittent issues for the past year, but it's always kept going until just recently. She got home with the car after a long roadtrip and immediately after, it stopped going forwards. We decided that instead of putting in another used automatic transmission, which would likely have issues soon enough, we'd swap in a 5 speed manual transmission. So, I picked up another 1986 528e in the next state over and brought it home. The car is a basket case with structural rust issues, and it's purple, but it has all parts for converting our car to a manual transmission.
