The Lian Li A3-mATX Wood Edition is a compact case that stands out with its minimalist design and wooden aesthetic. One of its key features is the adjustable mounting height for the power supply, offering flexibility for various build configurations. For better cable management, I used the Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 1000W Gold PSU in the SFX-L form factor. However, the CPU cable was too short, so an extension was necessary. While SFX power supplies are great for optimizing space, it’s important to double-check cable lengths before starting the build. The combination of the Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black cooler and Lian Li Uni Fan P28 fans worked seamlessly. Paired with the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, which doesn’t generate excessive heat, I set the fan speeds to lower levels for quieter operation. With the TDP capped at 105W, gaming temperatures remained stable, and benchmark tests showed CPU temperatures averaging around 85C. For easier assembly, it’s best to install the air cooler along with the motherboard. I attached the cooler last for filming purposes, which made it challenging to install the fans due to the proximity of the graphics card and top-mounted fans. For memory and storage, I used products from KLEVV, which provided reliable performance with manageable temperatures. The 6400 CL32 memory was easily configured using the EXPO profile, although I didn’t test 1:1 operation.
