How to use your Grower's Select Complete Monotub Kit. This video shows how to go from a fully colonized grain bag to a flourishing Monotub grow! First, you’ll start with your colonized grain bag. Gently break it up into small pieces while it’s still sealed. Next, prepare your Monotub by lining it with plastic and filling it with bulk substrate. Mix in the crumbled grain thoroughly, then cover with a thin layer of substrate to seal in the grains. Maintain the correct temperature (around 70–75 °F), and keep it closed up with minimal airflow for roughly a week to let the mycelium spread. As soon as you see white growth reaching the top, introduce a bit more fresh air by swapping out a couple of the black plugs with filters. Make sure you expose the tub to a consistent 12 hours of light daily. Over the next week or two, you’ll notice the mycelium fully colonize the substrate. At this point, remove the remaining plugs, replace them with filter discs, and keep humidity levels high through occasional misting. Tiny mushroom pins generally appear around the third week, leading to your first flush soon after. Keep an eye on moisture, maintain good airflow, and watch your mushrooms mature. Harvest by twisting or cutting them at the base once the caps have opened or when they reach your preferred stage.
