In April 2018, Patrick and I spent six days aboard the Savoir Vivre, an 8-passenger hotel barge that cruises the Burgundy Canal. It was our first barge cruise, and we loved the way the little barge takes you deep into the countryside, at a slow pace, stopping to pass through locks every kilometer or so. At each stop, you can get off and walk or bicycle along the towpath or through little villages and along country roads. We had beautiful spring weather and you can see the countryside turning green as we cruise along. The cruise was booked through Barge Lady Cruises, which is based in Chicago. This 5-minute video captures but a small few of the many highlights.
