Magic YoYo K3 Aurora - Unboxing Review and PLAY

Hey everyone! In this video, I review the #magicyoyo (MYY) K3 #Aurora. The Aurora is MYY's successor to the exceedingly popular K2 #Crystal (Review video:    • MagicYoYo K2 Crystal - Unboxing Review and...   ). I believe this isn't a very new yoyo but after seeing it so much on Amazon, I picked up a couple to try them out since it's a budget yoyo. When you first get a chance to hold the #yoyo , you'll notice that it's pretty wide. Actually it's really wide, it's wider than the #cheatcode 2 which is 50+mm in width! It also feels a little undersized...in diameter. So it's kind of interesting to have it be undersized but really wide. Throwing the yoyo with a responsive bearing installed, you can tell this yoyo has quite some weight and power to its throw. It's shape does take a little time to get used to, at least for me since I don't have many yoyos that have an Organic shape. If you're reading this, first...thank you! I usually add some tidbits of the yoyo that I don't cover fully in the video. But if you're relatively new to yoyoing, an Organic shaped yoyo has a more rounded profile. Think of taking any round object, like an baseball, cut it in half and attach the round ends together. That's an Organic profile! Closest yoyos that resemble this profile is the Duncan Freehand (technically it's a butterfly, but when it starts to become wider, I guess it becomes an Organic) or the Luftverk plastic 000 (I've tried this yoyo before and I'm not a huge fan of it). Once I installed the unresponsive bearing, is when this yoyo comes to life imo. It's a powerful responsive yoyo by itself, but playing unresponsive on this yoyo really surprised me. It's an absolute beast. Anything I can do on a metal yoyo, I can pretty much do on the Aurora. Although the area under the rim is flat, so finger/thumb grinds would have to be done at a tilt but it kinda turns into a finger spin when it eventually self centers. Another feature that this yoyo has; a finger spin dimple with a self centering cup. The entire body has a polished finish so it doesn't create the longest finger spins, but it can do them quite long still. Since the body is polished, it does get kinda grippy for body grinds. I'm pretty sure the yoyo is injection molded because you can see the trimmed off flash from where the plastic insertion area is. I bring this up because the body of this yoyo has vibe. The other alternative is machined plastic yoyo like a C3 Speedaholic XX. Even though the Aurora is injection molded and has vibe on the body, it actually plays and spins smooth on the string. You actually can't feel the vibe at all which really impressed me. SO don't let vibe change your perspective on how a yoyo plays. I understand as a collector but when it's a yoyo that I want to take outside and just throw around, the Aurora would be one of those yoyos. Now the performance, due to it's weight, size and shape. This yoyo is a banger. If you've been following my channel for a while, I do like heavier hitting yoyos. Not exactly heavy yoyos...I'll get into that about the Aurora in just a second. But this yoyo is really fun! I love slightly undersized yoyos! This yoyo is very easy to control, light enough to handles easily, but heavy enough to really go extreme on your tricks. The feel of the weight distribution is 50R/50C, so pretty much balanced. There is a lot of mid body weight, and you can feel it. it doesn't play floaty nor bouncy; the best way to describe this is imagine a heavy undersized yoyo, YYF Shutter Steel? And then add some widening rim hubs, you'll have something that plays similarly to the Aurora. My only gripe is honestly the weight. At 68g, that's pretty heavy! So horizontals are kinda hard on this because of gravity, but it's still nice to practice with this yoyo. Due to the weight, binds aren't as responsive, but I think that will be more on preference. But even with the heavy weight, the Aurora just may be my most favorite plastic yoyo. Did I also mention that the marbling patterns on the yoyo is pretty neat as well! The one I use the most is the black and white and green markings on the side of the rim. For the price I would definitely recommend picking one up because they're really affordable!
