Chandrbabau Naidu Serious on AP CM Jagan Behaviour in AP Assembly & Legislative Council | TV5

Chandrbabau Naidu Serious on AP CM Jagan Behaviour in AP Assembly & Legislative Council | TV5 Much to the disappointment of Chief Minister YS Jagan mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress Party, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on Wednesday referred to Select Committee the Bill for creation of three capitals and the Bill for scrapping Amaravati as the capital. This will delay the process of shifting the capital out of Amaravati at least by three months, according to the experts. Council chairman Mohammed Ahmed Shareef exercised his discretionary power to refer to the two crucial and controversial Bills to the Select Committee, after heated debate for more than five hours amid tense situation with the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP storming the podium several times creating pandemonium.. Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy described it as the most saddening day for Andhra Pradesh. The opposition Telugu Desam Party, which has majority in the Legislative Council, welcomed the decision. The FM alleged that opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu had influenced the Chairman by sitting in the Council visitors’ gallery. Naidu sat in the gallery since evening watching the proceedings, like the ruling YSR Congress leaders sitting in other gallery. It may be mentioned that Jaganmohan Reddy had taken a decision to decentralise the administration by establishing executive capital in Visakhapatnam and judicial capital in Kurnool, leaving the legislature in Amaravati. Entire opposition including TDP, BJP, Jana Sena, Left and Congress has been opposing the move. The TDP has been leading protests in Amaravati capital region. BJP and Jana Sena have come together to fight against relocation of the capital. The Left is sailing with the TDP. TDP leader in the Legislative Council, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu described it as a victory of the people of Amaravati. “The government has been contemplating to shift the capital out of Amaravati in the name of decentralisation of administration. People of the state have been opposing. People are protesting in the streets. People won the battle.” The Select Committee will have to elicit the opinions of the public, experts and others concerned, he said. Usually, select committee will comprise 15 members from all parties present in the Assembly and Council. The committee will go to the people across the state and collect feedback. Then, it will send the Bill to the Council where it has to go to the Assembly. TDP MLCs came out of the Council hall cheering the decision of the Chairman.
