At this time of remembrance in November 2020, as we are unable to get together as a choir, we thought it appropriate to put this recorded song on our YouTube channel. During our tour in Alta Pusteria, Italy in June 2016, we were lucky enough to sing with a number of excellent choirs up there in the beautiful Dolomites. We struck up a particularly good rapport, despite our lack of Italian, with the guys in Coro Code di Bosco and subsequently 'borrowed' this piece from their repertoire with the kind and exclusive permission of its composer Giorgio Susana. Thank you Giorgio! In WWII, Italian Alpini mountain troops were sent to fight on the Russian front. Io resto qui : Addio! recounts the final thoughts of a dying Italian soldier as he bids his friends farewell. We sing this beautiful piece in our best Italian. We hope you find it as moving as we do.
