Škoda 120 LS 1979 – Fixing the seat belt retractor mechanism

The seat belt retractor mechanism in my 1979 Škoda 120 LS was not functioning properly. The retractor hangs and it was a pain to get the seat belt out. I could get it 2 cm out but then it locked. I had to let it roll back 1 cm to be able to pull out the next 2 cm – you get the point. It took over a minute to get the seat belt on. I had tried to fix the retractor a few times but I didn’t completely understand the mechanism. But now I finally cracked it and the seat belt retractor works as it should.
