This video explains three important principles of child development in a clear and easy way. First, the Principle of Continuity is discussed. Development is a continuous process that starts from birth and continues throughout life. It does not happen suddenly; instead, changes occur gradually and build upon earlier growth and learning. Next, the video explains the Principle of Fixed Pattern. Child development follows a definite and predictable pattern. For example, physical development usually moves from head to toe (cephalocaudal) and from the centre of the body to the outer parts (proximodistal). This means all children follow the same general pattern, though the speed may differ. Finally, the video explains that development follows a sequence. Children achieve skills in an orderly sequence, such as sitting before standing and babbling before speaking. Each stage prepares the child for the next stage of development.
