Two primary schools in Wollert, Melbourne's north, were targeted by thieves in coordinated attacks during the early hours of the morning. Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary was forced to close for the week after vandals stripped copper and electrical wiring from power boards, leaving 220 students requiring homeschooling. Nearby Barrawang Primary had its water supply cut by vandals but remained open using portable toilets and bottled water while crews worked to restore the mains connection.
