The tour guide was very nice and entertaining. And we ended with a nice Vietnamese Lunch with a Madame Lan – Back Dang. Afterwards, we decided to check out Bana Hills on our own and it was a quite a far Grab Ride but we made it. The timing was good as the lines seemed a lot less as we saw a lot of people leaving the park. After we purchased our tickets and made our way up to the cable-car entrance, my wife was amazed and surprised as we launched up our way up to the mountain. This was a new experience for my wife and she was really entertained. After the lengthy ride up the mountain, as the cable-car at Bana Hills is the longest non-stop single track cable car in the world. We were fortunate as we made it to the famous golden bridge for some video and picture taking, the weather was perfect, cool and with ample blue skies for some great pictures. We toured around and loved the gardens and attractions. My favorite was the Alpine Coaster. Before we knew it, was already dinner time so we walked around in hopes of finding a good place for dinner. We eventually found a great place and had a dinner that I could carbo load before the marathon. We made our way back to Danang and the Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. We quickly went to bed as I would be getting up for the marathon. Early next morning I had worked it out with the Resort to have a taxi ready to take me into town to the start of the race. Upon arriving, saw many people getting ready and warming up. Before we knew it, it was time to line up and there was a good number of people. The weather felt rather warm and as the sun rose it really got hot. The race volunteers were very helpful and positive. The end of the race was definitely a battle and I was again just happy to finish with no medical issues. After picking up me medal and finisher’s shirt found a taxi to take me back to the hotel. We were checking out that afternoon and did sort of a late checkout. My wife had the bath ready and I soaked my pain away. We moved to our next hotel and got a ride to Hoi An as we booked a basket boat tour. It was a good distance away but made it there before dinner time. Out boat guide was quite the character and very friendly regardless of the language barrier. Afterwards, we walked around Hoi An and had the famous Banh Mi that was featured in some travel shows. The next day came so fast and it was time for us to leave already. At the Da Nang Airport, we headed to the Priority Pass lounge, the CIP Orchid Lounge that was very spacious and not crowded whatsoever. The selection of food felt like a nice resort breakfast buffet, and we were glad we did not eat prior to coming to the airport. After arriving we quickly took a taxi to our hotel at The Peninsula Bangkok which is right next door to ICONSIAM. The Peninsula Bangkok offers regular boat shuttles to ICONSIAM that is really convenient for guests. After we got settled, we quickly took advantage of this service. We were impressed as it is nice way to arrive ICONSIAM and really stress free. The boat shuttle staff were courteous and friendly. ICONSIAM was a great time as always, as we like to go shopping here as they have everything, even had a competition for Miss Grand Thailand. After a meal and a movie we headed back to the Peninsula Bangkok. The hotel was really 5 star, which excellent service and a really luxurious room.
