When the wind confirmed the forecast of brisk Northerlies bringing rain, we realised we should better turn the boat around to avoid rain blowing down the companion way. There is not much space in front of the wharf to safely turn and not risk getting blown on to the reef, so we resolved to keep New Life firmly attached to land. Of course the engine had to come on to make that possible, to keep the boat pulling away from the wharf while we let the wind do the hard work. Of course Nico helped as well, especially since the boat had been serving as after school water sports park for Nico's new friends from the small village. We spent 10 days at the wharf, which as we discovered was the centre of the small village on Katiu Atoll.
