Exercise 1. DESCRIPTION: The Barcelona Star. Players are positioned on 5 cones in the shape of a star. As seen. A passes to B, B to C, C to D and D to E. Players immediately follow their pass. Red are looking to get past the previous pair and shoot at goal. Blue are looking to steal and counter to the small goals or pass to next pair. After this the exercise repeats. Have players change roles each go. Coaching Points Quality of first touch, weight and accuracy of pass and touch. Awareness of defenders, time and space. Decision making: Pass, dribble, turn or shoot Progression 2 DESCRIPTION: Group is split into 2 with players working with a partner. DESCRIPTION: Goals back-to-back 3 players on the outside from both teams. 3v3 in the middle (coach can fill in as an outside player if needed. Aim is to score in your goal (red goal is the left / blue goal is the right). In your area it is 6v3 and anyone can score. If defenders win they try to switch the play to their half. Red full backs 2 and 3 can enter only once their winger 7 or 11 is involved in the play. Reds score by counter attacking to the 3 mini goals.
