Grand Theft Auto 3 - Gameplay [HD]

Grand Theft Auto 3 or "GTA 3" is an open world/action game. It was made by Rockstar North and Published by Rockstar Games. It was released for PS2 in 2001 and for PC in 2002. An Xbox version was made by Rockstar Vienna and released in 2003. An iOS and Android version was made by War Drum Studios and released in 2011. So this was probably the biggest turning point of the whole series because for the first time it was possible to play the game from a perspective on street level (well thirdperson to be exact). The funny thing is that when I was playing GTA1 with my friends and brother back in the days we always said "If this will be in real 3D someday it would be awesome, but that probably never happens because no PC would be able to do it." Well you can probably guess our surprise when this actually came out ^^ Although I must admit that GTA3 was my favourite and probably the first in the series which I have played through, it has got some new...well I don't wanna say problems but it was definately different than the others. -GTA3 is for the first time a story driven game in the series, which is kinda cool and I like it but then this comes with some limitations because although it is still an open world, the game is much more linear now. -You can't work for gangs you want to work with (like in GTA2) and so you switch your "employers" like you switch your underwear and the missions you take are kinda in a predefined path. -It is also not possible anymore to choose a different player character to play (like you could in GTA1, although there is a skin selection screen but that's not the same ^^). -The multiplayer gamemode is not available anymore, well not officially that is. There was (or still is) a mod called MultiTheftAuto which basically kinda brought you back the multiplayer experience. That ofcourse does not mean the game is bad after all. Here are a few things which have changed for the better: -The driving is now actually quite fun and so are the racing mini missions. -The shooting is not a spray and pray anymore and because you can now see where you are shooting it is possible to actually hit your target -The missions are nice and interesting and the cutscenes were pretty good animated and voiced for that time. -Saving your ingame progress is still not possible through quicksave but it is now possible to save between missions by going into a safehouse at any time without cost. -Buying weapons is now possible so the money you earn is worth somethign alteast although ofcourse you can still find weapons hidden somewhere. GTA3 is a good game and can still be played (if you don't mind the old graphics) but it took a different direction in the series than what I expected. Personally I somehow hoped that it would actually be a fusion of GTA1 and 2 with some additions of it's own but instead it was almost a completely different direction it took.But looking at the current "modern" games in the series which follow this path I don't think that Rockstar North will produce a GTA title that is gonna be more like GTA1 or 2 anytime soon.
