Paranormal investigation at ..... Deep within the Lincolnshire countryside, the skeletal remains of Rauceby Asylum stand as a chilling monument to a past best forgotten. Opened in 1902 as the Kesteven County Asylum, it was a self-sufficient, isolated world with its own farms, water tower, mortuary, and two graveyards. Underground tunnels still snake beneath the earth, connecting the wards like a network of cold, dark veins. Its haunting character stems not only from its intended purpose but also from its many transformations and the stories that linger in its abandoned corridors. Within its walls, patients lived in tiny cells with windows too high to offer a view of anything but the sky, many covered by lockable grilles. Though built with modern amenities for its time, the overwhelming sense was of isolation and confinement. During the Second World War, the asylum was repurposed as a pioneering RAF hospital for airmen with severe crash and burn injuries. The Lucifer Effect, filmed inside the asylum cursed its viewers and participants, with some suffering medical emergencies or psychological distress after the events. The director of the film is reportedly missing, and an actress was later sectioned.
