This is Armageddon, the 1969 self-titled album released on Amos Records. Not the Keith Relf band. Not the German one. This is the Texas-to-LA group that evolved out of The Kitchen Cinq and went from pop-psych to full fuzzed-out acid rock. After relocating from Texas to Los Angeles, Mark Creamer, James Parker, and Johnny Stark tightened up their sound and leaned heavier. The result is a tougher, more aggressive record driven by thick fuzz guitars, strong group vocals, and late-60s West Coast energy. It still has melody, but there’s grit behind it. This copy is a US promo pressing on Amos Records (AAS-7008). You can hear the transition happening in real time. “Armageddon Theme” sets the tone with punchy riffing. “Water Lilly” keeps that psychedelic shimmer but with more bite. “Another Part Of Our Life” pushes further into acid rock territory. Then you get curveballs like “Bilbo Baggins” and the strange Disney psych take on “The Magic Song.” Only 1969 could pull that off. Bassist Skip Battin left shortly after this record to join a late lineup of The Byrds, which tells you something about the level of players involved here. If you’re into late-60s heavy psych that sits between garage rawness and early hard rock, this one hits. 📷 Instagram: / vinyl_piper 🎧 Full Vinyl Rips playlist: • Vinyl Rips of my OG Records #Armageddon #Armageddon1969 #AmosRecords #PsychedelicRock #AcidRock #HeavyPsych #TexasPsych #GaragePsych #1969Vinyl #ObscurePsych #VinylRip #VintageVinyl #VinylCommunity #VinylPiper
