Remansos unfolds as a sonic landscape that flows like a river, where currents move freely, finding resonances and unexpected detours. It is not a linear narrative, but a course that pauses, fragments, and reconnects, as if the music were breathing in shifting iterations. Each material stands out by its character: the vibraphone bowed into a luminous shimmer; the bass clarinet multi-phonics, opening like chords within a single breath; the string harmonics, distant and fragile; and the piano expanded through a digital keyboard tuned a quarter-tone lower, creating a “meta-instrument” that merges with the ensemble. The piece invites listeners to focus on the smallest gestures: a hesitant flute trill, a chord stretched until it vanishes, or a resonance abruptly silenced. In this interplay of suspension and movement, transparency and density, time reveals as a remanso—a place to linger, to dwell in sound.
