so i started editing videos when i was around 12 years old and it's been more than 6 years since then. now i’m 18 years old and suffering through college and i can say that i really miss my time video editing. video editing and the editing community has shaped a lot of who i am; its given me a creative outlet for a lot of the negative emotions that i feel and it’s the reason why i’ve met and befriended so many great people who i still hold dear to me despite not really talking anymore and i'm forever grateful for that even though i may not edit as often as i used to. so to you guys who have stuck with me this long even through my inconsistencies, this is for you ♡ i picked this song for a multitude of reasons: 1. i love one republic even though their songs are SO FUCKING HARD TO EDIT TO 2. one of the first meps i ever saw was hosted by 1footballma1, one of my original inspos when i first considered video editing, and the mep used this song and its old but it makes me so nostalgic so!! … also embarrassingly, i’ve edited a korra video to this song like.. 5 years ago and while it’s obviously not the best i have to offer, it’s actually the basis of my style of editing back in 2013-2014 so this video is like, an upgrade to that one but also not really 3. i felt like this was the best song to start a new year with. 2018 was not a particularly good year for me (especially mentally) but it’s not something i want to let hold me back from what's to come now. lets let go of the past and start fresh in 2019! i can't say i WASN'T emotional when i saw dannie and daniel’s collab coupled with how i felt for liv’s zukaang video… both of which, in all honesty, held me at gunpoint and told me to sit down and edit something. its an old feeling i really miss from being in the avatar editing community; where new videos would inspire us to improve and edit ourselves. it's nostalgic and i miss it and i love it. so i hope you guys can take this video and at least like it as much as i do lmao editing this was so hard??? mainly because i can’t remember where any of the clips are after book 1 of korra so uhh lok seems shoehorned in so sorry about that lmao idk if you guys noticed but i tried to edit with the style of editing i had in like… 2014 mixed with how i edit now so the style is all over the place but i hope it stays consistent enough this is dedicated to: maria who against all odds still talks me till this day ever since we first met even tho we both suck at communicating and our time zones are wack?? love you maria, luv 2 see u suffer w me paige who i still consider to be one of my closest friends on yt. you’ve always been such a huge inspiration to me ever since i first started editing videos 6 years ago and im glad i met and befriended you fable who still edits to avatar till this day and is reviving it in her own right. i've always enjoyed our interactions and your videos and i'm so glad you're still here being the wonderful person i know you to be okay enough rambling, here's to a better year! miss and love you guys ♡ Colouring: mine (based on duffomgj’s) Footage: Avatar: the Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra Song: Secrets by OneRepublic Program: Vegas Pro 14.0
