Melissa Sweet discusses "Some Writer! The Story of E.B. White" in a book launch event celebrating the author of "Charlotte's Web" at the 2016 Library of Congress Book Festival in Washington, D.C. Speaker Biography: Melissa Sweet has illustrated nearly 100 children's books ranging from board books to nonfiction titles. Her artwork has also appeared in the New York Times, Martha Stewart Living, Madison Park Greetings and Smilebox. Sweet has received various honors including a Sibert Medal, two Caldecott Honors, the NCTE Orbis Pictus Award, the Flora Stieglitz Straus Award and the Cook Prize. Her recent books include "Little Red Writing," "Brave Girl: Clara Lemlich and the Shirtwaist Makers," "You Nest Here With Me" and "The Sleepy Little Alphabet: A Bedtime Story from Alphabet Town." In her new biography, "Some Writer! The Story of E.B. White" , Sweet mixes White's personal letters, photos and family ephemera with her own exquisite artwork to tell the life story of the author of the beloved "Charlotte's Web."
