His hands, accustomed to holding a pen, were now calloused from sawing wood and carrying heavy tree trunks. Some days, the torrential rain would pour down, flooding up to his ankles, yet he persevered in covering each plank. At night, amidst the sounds of insects and wild animals, Huu missed his father intensely, but it was this very longing that gave him strength.
