Applied Phonics Grade K – Week 22 consists of 5 lessons (Monday-Friday) which focus on the following: 1- Letter Qu, qu; sound /qu/ 2- Hand sign used to represent the /qu/ sound 3- Sound song for the letter QU, qu 4- Words that begin with the /qu/ sound 5- Writing and Reading Assignments Dictation Letters: qu, w, j, r, u, h Words: quit, quip, bag, dig, mud, lid Notes: The lessons are self-explanatory; however, there are a few suggestions: 1. Demonstrate the hand signs for the students; sign all the letters and words with the students for every assignment. 2. Pause the video when needed, e.g. your students may need more time to write their name or they may need more time to answer a question, etc. 3. The Writing Assignments can be done whole class or individually or both. 4. Day 3 coloring worksheet – you may wish to use the completed coloring worksheet as a model for students. 5. Day 5 Dictation worksheet – you may wish to collect the Dictation worksheet and use it as an assessment. Use the It’s Time to Write worksheet as review.
