STATION 3 – JESUS FALLS FOR THE FIRST TIME The cross beam began to sway and Jesus staggered. In a moment, he pitched forward. The beam hit the ground, hung standing for a second, then dragged him down to the cobblestones. When I stumble under the weight of my struggles, do I turn to Jesus for strength, or do I try to carry my burdens alone? Lord Jesus, You fell under the weight of the cross, yet You rose again to continue Your journey. When I fall beneath the burdens of life, give me the courage to rise and walk forward with faith. Help me to trust in Your strength when mine fails. Amen. STATION 4 – JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER, MARY Simeon had said to his mother, Mary, a sword will pierce your soul, too. How do I respond when I see a loved one suffering? Do I offer my presence and support, even when I cannot take away their pain? Lord Jesus, in Your suffering, You found strength in the love of Your mother. Help us to be present for those who are hurting, even when we feel helpless. May we, like Mary, stand with courage and love beside those who carry heavy burdens. Amen. STATION 5 – SIMON HELPS JESUS CARRY HIS CROSS The soldiers seized a man, Simon from Cyrene, who was coming in from the country. They made him shoulder the cross and carry it behind Jesus. Who are the "Simons" in my life—those who have helped me carry my burdens? How can I be a Simon for someone else who is struggling? Lord Jesus, You accepted help in Your suffering. Teach me to receive support with humility and to offer it with love. May I be like Simon of Cyrene, walking beside those in need, sharing their burdens, and bringing them strength.
