Khaled Sabsabi specialises in multimedia and site-specific installations, often involving people on the margins of society. He continues to work across borders, culture and disciplines to make artworks that challenge extreme principles and actions. Sabsabi has worked with communities, in particular communities in Western Sydney, to create and develop arts programs and projects that explore people and places from a broad social, political and ideological spectrums. 70,000 veils is an abstract autobiography that examines the complexity between religion and spirituality in the digital era. It is based directly upon Sabsabi’s daily life and surroundings. His extensive digital photographic archives become the raw ingredient of 100 video channels you see in 70,000 Veils. It is an attempt to encourage our ascent from a temporal space of grounded reality to discover an internal world of light when all appears a cave.
