We needed an overnight stay during a trip back from NC and discovered Lotts Island RV Park Review located on post at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah GA. A true gem. Perfect little FamCamp. Once you enter the gate, IMMEDIATELY hook a sharp left turn, then the campground is the first left on a dirt road. Reservations are required and accepted 90 days in advance. You must check in and pay at the MWR Outdoor Rec office. You can also make reservations, check in and pay by phone. After hours of operation you can go to your site and check in at MWR the following morning by phone. Lotts Island RV Park is open year round, and accepts Big Rigs, though a few of the sites may be narrow. You will find: 16 Full RV Hook Up Sites Equipped with: Grills Fire Pits Picnic Tables Cable TV 20, 30 and 50 AMP Electrical Water Each site has sewer hook ups, and there is a separate dump station on the property. There is no bathhouse, showers or laundry facilities. Costs: $25 per night or $550 per month for Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Retired Military, 100% DV, Purple Heart Recipients, Former POWs, Veteran Caregivers, and DoD Civilians at Fort Stewart or Hunter AAF. $20 per night for seniors with Golden Age Access Passes or seniors with "America the Beautiful" National Park Passes The maximum stay is 30 days. Some info shows 14 days as the max stay. Just check when you call them. There are also 6 Primitive camp Sites equipped with: Water, Fire Ring and Picnic Table. The cost is $6 per tent/per night. Lotts Island RV Park also offers Basketball & Volleyball Courts A Fishing pier & cleaning station and a large Playground. This is a pet-friendly park, with the usual leash and clean-up rules. Lotts Island has boat slips available and the coastal waterway has direct access to the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Private berthing at Lotts Island Marina is available for a monthly fee of $5 per foot. The Marina has a private gate, water and electrical. It is open to all users, but space is limited. What did we like about this park? The sites are level, with a nice concrete patio area and a full service pedestal. What did we dislike about this park? It is in Savannah and near the several major highways, so traffic noise and emergency vehicles can be heard around the clock.
