Theme 5:14.29 - • The worlds hardest Game break The Record Live ◆ PLEASE NOTE that this video comparison is not entirely accurate since there may be dropped or duplicate frames in the footage. But it should be accurate to within one or two frames. ◆ Aside from being cool to watch, there is important context behind this video. One month ago, Aaron's 5:14.27 was the only time below 5:20. Now, in just this past week, TheMe set a PB of 5:14.29, hsblue set a WR of 5:14.05 and raflikk beat that world record twice, ending up with a 5:11.02. These four players are in a league of their own, with the next fastest time being 7 seconds behind. Now that Aaron's 3-year record has been broken, we are entering a new era of TWHG1 speedrunning where tricks like the Level 6 wall clip, 12-second Level 12, and Level 28 enemy clip will be commonplace in world records moving forward. ◆ This video highlights some of the key differences in strategy/luck between these four runs, but it can be hard to spot all the details when four videos are going on at once, so here are the key things to look out for: L5: TheMe attempts a wall clip at the end but misses it, losing half a second. L6: raflikk and hsblue get a perfect L6 wall clip. TheMe gets it but with a death (still saves time). Aaron does not attempt it, opting for the 13-second strategy. L7: Aaron and ralikk use "fast 7", hsblue uses the standard Level 7 route and TheMe has to do the backup strategy due to the death from Level 6. L10: Aaron uses a slightly slower strat that loses about 10 frames L12: TheMe gets a 12-second Level 12, this is an incredibly difficult strategy but it saves 3 seconds. L18: Aaron nails L18, all the other players lose some time due to missing coins, hsblue/TheMe lose one second, raflikk loses two seconds L26: TheMe loses a lot of time due to missing the coin in the bottom right. If not for this, his run could've been a world record. L28: raflikk executes the incredibly precise L28 enemy clip strategy, saving 2.5 seconds over the other players. This strategy was not known at the time of Aaron's 5:14, though I doubt he would've used it if it was. This route is very difficult, you not only need the frame perfect enemy clip at the beginning of the level, but also very precise movement throughout the rest of the level. This is the first time this timesave has been implemented in a world record and is the main reason raflikk manages to finish 3 seconds ahead of the other runners. ◆ LINKS TWHG Website: http://twhg.info TWHG Discord: http://twhg.info/discord MUSIC: Growing on Me by snayk (TWHG1 original soundtrack) https://snayk.bandcamp.com
