First at university was like standing at the of sea ready to dive. CEME NUST (College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, part of NUST Islamabad) is one of the most disciplined and respected colleges in Pakistan. It originally started as a military institution but is now open to civilians as well, which makes the environment a unique mix of army culture and university life. Campus Life: Discipline & Environment: Since it’s under the Pakistan Army, everything runs in an organized and punctual way. You’ll see proper dress codes, respect for seniors, and a professional vibe across the campus. Academics: Known for strong engineering programs, especially in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, and Software Engineering. Labs and facilities are advanced, and the academic pressure is real, but it shapes you well for industry. Hostel & Mess: Hostel life is active—students live together, study late nights, and bond like family. The mess food is considered better than most other universities in Pakistan (still not "five-star," but solid). Societies & Activities: Even though it’s strict, you still get sports, debates, dramatics, adventure clubs, and tech competitions. Events like Olympiads, welcome parties, and farewell nights keep things lively. Sports: Big focus on fitness—gyms, cricket/football grounds, and even parades for cadets. Civilians also get access to sports facilities. Culture: Because it’s inside Rawalpindi cantonment, you live in a safe, calm environment away from city chaos, but still close enough to Islamabad for outings. Overall, CEME life is a mix of discipline + fun + grind. You get exposure to military culture, strong academics, and an energetic student community. #NUST #CEME #H12 #Universitylife #mechtronics
