In this piece, I combine loose, expressive brushwork with more controlled marks to capture the mood of the scene and the stillness of the moment, focusing on atmosphere rather than fine detail. I’ll talk you through my process, from how I approach a subject like this to the techniques I use to bring it to life on the paper. I used Saunders Waterford 300gm cold press paper 28x38cm (quarter sheet).
