In this video I show how I start painting a wave with pastels. This technique basically allows me to tint the paper with colors. It's very loose and my goal is just to establish a color map for the dry pastels hat will be added on top of it. Here are the links to some of the materials I'm using: UArt paper, 400 grit, neutral color https://www.dickblick.com/items/10725... NuPastels (hard pastels, various colors) https://www.dickblick.com/products/pr... Isopropyl alcohol, I'm using 70%. This was sold at pharmacy stores, but it might be a while till we'll see it on the shelves again. You can also use water, it just will dry slower, and don't make your brush too wet.
