(13 May 2013) SHOTLIST AP Entertainment New York, 13 May 2013 1. Wide of Hard Rock Cafe 2. Tight of Marquee 3. Tilt down on giant neon guitar 4. Wide of display case 5. Medium of Vox Beatles guitar 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Martin J. Nolan/Julien's Auctions: "This is our big item. This is our piece d'resistance, if you will. We estimate this at 200 to 300,000 (US Dollars). It's a Vox guitar. A custom Vox guitar made for John Lennon in 1966, and played by John Lennon and George Harrison. And therein lies the huge value and collectability with video and photographs of both of them playing this guitar. It's a beautiful guitar in its own right and with the Beatle value. Once again, we estimate 200 to 300,000, but we think it could go much higher." 7. Wide of Elvis cape opened 8. Elvis cape draped over shoulders 9. SOUNDBITE (English) Martin J. Nolan/Julien's Auctions: "The cape weighed 12 pounds, and when Elvis put on the cape for a rehearsal - his idea was to have the cape cloak him, and then he'd do a big open and a big reveal. But it was so heavy. In fact, Elvis fell down during rehearsal with the cape. So they had to scramble at the last minute and make a half-cape, rather than the full-length, which was to the floor. So the one that we're selling is the full length one, the one that he wore in rehearsal, did not wear during the performance, but it's still a fantastic piece. Great providence, of course. And we estimate that at 120-150,000 (US Dollars)." 10. Photograph of Michal Jackson hugging Nelson Mandela 11. Medium of jacket worn by Michael Jackson 12. SOUNDBITE (English) Martin J. Nolan/Julien's Auctions "We have a few jackets, not a lot of stuff from Michael Jackson in this auction. We have one jacket that he wore when he met with Nelson Mandela. And of course, being that Nelson Mandela is such an iconic figure, himself, and then a photograph of Michael Jackson wearing this jacket when he met Nelson Mandela, that's a double factor of collectability and importance to the investors and collectors that want to own something like this." 13. Tilt up on David Cassidy jumpsuit 14. Medium of dress worn by Nicki Minaj 15. Jackets worn by Elvis and Michael Jackson 16. Medium of custom Conway Twitty guitar by Gretsch STORYLINE RARE BEATLES GUITAR, ELVIS CAPE AMONG BLUE CHIP ITEMS AT UPCOMING JULIEN'S MUSIC ICONS AUCTION A rare guitar played by both John Lennon and George Harrison is the top item being auctioned by Julien's this coming weekend. The custom guitar was a prototype made by Vox and presented to Lennon. Harrison played the guitar while practicing "I am the Walrus" during The Magical Mystery Tour and Lennon played it while recording a video session for "Hello, Goodbye." Julien's Auctions executive director Martin Nolan was proud to have it in the auction. "This is our big item," he said. "This is our piece d'resistance, if you will. Once again, we estimate 200 to 300,000, but we think it could go much higher." There's also an eagle-emblazoned cape made for Elvis Presley up for sale. He was supposed to wear it for his groundbreaking "Aloha From Hawaii" television special. But at 12 pounds, it was too heavy for the King. There are several jackets worn by Michael Jackson, including the one he wore when he met Nelson Mandela.
