아키타입 시놉시스- 어느 날 밤, 집에서 잠을 자던 한 남자가 산에서 들려오는 검은 정령의 부름을 받고 산속으로 향한다. 그가 현실의 경계를 넘어 그곳에 발을 들여놓는 순간, 인간의 무의식 속에 숨겨진 민속학적 원형의 세계가 펼쳐진다. 그 기묘한 시공간 속에서 남자는 멧돼지로 변신하게 되는데.. Archetype Synopsis- One night, a man sleeping at home is drawn into the mountains by the call of a dark spirit. The moment he crosses the boundary of reality and steps inside, a world of folkloric archetypes, hidden deep within the human unconscious, unfolds before him. Within that eerie distortion of time and space, he undergoes a transformation into a wild boar... 연출 의도- 10년 넘게 다니던 어느 산을 배경으로 이 영화를 찍게 되었는데, 그곳에서 목격했던 기묘한 일들이 있었다. 언젠가 샤먼으로 보이는 한 중년 여성이 돌무덤에 막걸리를 뿌리는 모습을 목격한 적이 있었다. 나는 그녀가 왜 그곳에서 막걸리를 뿌렸는지 한참을 궁금해하며 살아갔다. 그리고 영화를 통해 그 장면을 재현하게 되면서 그곳이 ‘서낭당’이라는 것을 알게 되었다. 서낭당이란 마을을 수호하는 서낭신을 모셔 놓은 신당(神堂)이라고 한다. 또 어느 밤에는 중년 부부가 삽과 박스를 들고 산으로 올라가는 모습을 목격한 적이 있었다. 그들이 다시 산에서 내려왔을 때는 박스가 사라져 있었다. 나는 그 박스 안에 죽은 무언가가 담겨 있었으리라 추측했다. ‘산’이라는 공간 안에서 인간은 이성적 현실의 차원이 잦아들고, 우리 내부에 잠들어 있던 원시적 원형이 발현될 수 있다고 생각했다. 그리고 영화를 만들며 내가 무의식적으로 선택했던 상징들이 민속학적 원형을 내포하고 있음을 발견하고, 이 영화를 ‘아키타입(원형)’이라 이름 지었다. 나는 2024년에 5년 동안 영위하던 사업을 마무리하고, 내 안에 깊이 숨겨두었던 '영화'를 이제 시작해야겠다고 마음먹었다. 그렇게 이 영화를 2025년 2월에서 3월까지 촬영하여 마쳤고, 여러 번의 편집을 거치게 되었다. 비전공자라 쇼트에 대한 개념도 모르는 상태에서 찍은 영화였다. 마지막으로 이 영화에 출연해 주신 김태수(배우자) 님께 감사함을 전하며, 앞으로 더 많은 사람들에게 닿을 수 있는 영화가 만들어지기를 바라며 나는 두 번째 영화를 준비 중에 있다. -류우 2026.02.16 Director's Note- I ended up filming this movie in a mountain I have visited for over ten years, a place where I had witnessed several eerie and mysterious events. Once, I saw a middle-aged woman, who appeared to be a shaman, pouring makgeolli (rice wine) over a stone pile. For a long time, I lived with a lingering curiosity about why she did that. It was only through the process of recreating that scene in my film that I discovered the place was a 'Seonangdang.' I learned that a Seonangdang is a shrine dedicated to Seonangshin, the deity who protects the village. On another night, I witnessed a middle-aged couple heading up the mountain carrying a shovel and a box. When they returned, the box was gone. I could only surmise that the box had contained something dead. I believe the 'mountain' is a space where the rational, everyday dimensions of humanity fall away, allowing the primitive archetypes dormant within us to manifest. As I made this film, I discovered that the symbols I had subconsciously chosen were embedded with these folkloric archetypes. Thus, I titled the film Archetype. In 2024, after five years of running my business, I decided to close that chapter and finally embrace 'cinema,' a dream I had long kept hidden deep inside. I completed the filming between February and March 2025 and went through numerous rounds of editing. As a non-film major, I began this project without even a clear grasp of what a 'shot' was. Lastly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Kim Tae-su (my spouse) for appearing in this film.
