‘Sitharaman should give statement in RS’: Congress on bank employees’ strike

Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of bank employees’ strike in the Rajya Sabha. He accused the government of not consulting with stakeholders and added that the common man and businessmen had been impacted by these strikes. ‘This impacts the livelihood of 13 lakh employees. People in reserved category are eligible to get jobs in these banks, Indira Gandhi nationalised these banks, this empowered anyone to open an account in a bank. Even the 2008 bank recession could not impact India due to nationalised banks,’ Kharge said in the house.
